Rachelle Pean found yoga and meditation as she was finishing her Master's program of Social Work at the Silbermann School of Social Work. In an extremely stressful time of her life, with the simple (but not easy) act of paying attention to her breathing and getting on her yoga mat, she realized she was able to manage high levels of stress in a healthy way. After receiving her LMSW and becoming a mental health therapist in the Bronx, she received her 200 hour Vinyasa Yoga Certification from Yoga to The People in NYC so she could share this healing practice with others. She went on to receive training in Trauma Informed Yoga from the Prison Project, as well as various additional trainings focused on processing and healing from traumatic experiences so that people can live fully in the present and not be limited by their past experiences (EMDR, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Skills). Rachelle focuses primarily on building a relationship with her clients so she can provide support to reach your goals at YOUR pace, wherever you are in your healing journey. Rachelle has experience working with people with early childhood traumas, substance abuse, children and adolescents, familial conflict, issues regarding sexuality and gender identity, and severe environmental stressors. Her work has an emphasis on self care and self acceptance in order to build a healthier you.
